Nexium 24HR works by blocking acid stomach acid from being absorbed

When a person enters the stomach, stomach acid is broken down into H+ and K+ from stomach contents. It does this by causing the stomach lining to be acid-free and reducing the amount of K+. This results in the following:

H+ and K+ are essential for preventing heart attack and stroke

People with heart problems and low blood pressure may experience symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness, slurred speech, and fainting.

People with diabetes and kidney problems can develop symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
